Afolabi celebrates retirement in grand style, attributes success to God's grace

Dr. Festus Oluwole Afolabi No joy surpasses for a man who begins a work and ends it successfully! This is not different for Dr. Festus Oluwole Afolabi, an erudite scholar, a teacher of teacher and an astute administrator  humility personified, an amiable lecturer and a God  ordained Professor, who clocked 65 years after about 35 years of meritorious service to the nation, God and humanity. Afolabi sees himself as an embodiment of Grace. In his words, while giving special remarks during the special thanksgiving service which was held at the Way of Holiness Chapel Headquarters Ondo, "I thank God for people God has brought around me to make me who I am today, academically, spiritually and the like". President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR Since the inception of a new administration in Nigeria leadership, it is the yearnings and aspirations of both old and young to see the emergence of a new Nigeria. This was also expressed at the Ondo Diocese ordination service as Akponorie declared, "Your best is desired to actualize the dream of a new Nigeria".  This sincere expression was made by Akponorie, a cleric of the Anglican Diocese of Ondo and a lecturer at the Archbishop Vining College of Technology (AVCT), Akure while delivering a sermon during the Diocesan ordination service . Oloyede tasks academic staff to save for the rainy day as ASCOMS holds AGM

The President of the  Adeyemi Staff Cooperative Multipurpose Society (ASCOMS) established by COEASU ACE chapter, Dr. Rasheed Oloyede has advised academic staff members to save for the rainy days. He gave this advice while granting interviews to AGES after the memorable celebration of the 8th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the society.  At the just-concluded annual general meeting of the society, Oloyede, an erudite scholar, who is also a manager of resources - human and capital, advised members to seize the opportunity of the cooperative society existence to save for their retirement. Speaking on the backdrop that pensions and gratuities are truly paid by the government but usually paid at a delayed time or years beneficiaries cannot predetermine. Poverty has been weaponized in Nigeria - Ikeakor

Ephraim Ikeakor, Bishop of  the Anglican Diocese of Amichi. The cleric made this statement while delivering a sermon on the theme, "Rebuilding the Old Waste" at the 24th synod of Anglican Diocese of Ondo.  Each year, by the church tradition, Dioceses across the globe holds synods with relevant and inspiring themes.
