Oloyede tasks academic staff to save for the rainy day as ASCOMS holds AGM


The President of the  Adeyemi Staff Cooperative Multipurpose Society (ASCOMS) established by COEASU ACE chapter, Dr. Rasheed Oloyede has advised academic staff members to save for the rainy days. He gave this advice while granting interviews to AGES after the memorable celebration of the 8th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the society. 



At the just-concluded annual general meeting of the society, Oloyede, an erudite scholar, who is also a manager of resources - human and capital, advised members to seize the opportunity of the cooperative society existence to save for their retirement.

Speaking on the backdrop that pensions and gratuities are truly paid by the government but usually paid at a delayed time or years beneficiaries cannot predetermine. He enjoined academic staff to save and prepare for their retirement, even at early stage, disregarding status or level. He congratulated members of the academic cooperative for their unalloyed support in the fiscal year. He appreciated members and the cooperative staff for the surplus made in the year. 

While delivering his management report, he reported that the society gained membership addition from 236 to 243. "The society surplus declared for the year is a testimony of the sincerity and openness of members in contributing and timely repayment of loans received", Oloyede concluded. He equally appreciated Dr. Samuel Akintunde the visionary past COEASU Chairman whose tenure heralded the society, and also Dr. Tope Oziegbe his successor who also built on the legacy laid by Akintunde. He did not fail to appreciate the present Adepoju-led administration for supporting the society. 

Goodwill messages were delivered by some dignitaries at the event. Mr. Michael from the United Bank for Africa, Mr. Lawal from Polaris Bank, Dr. Zaccheaus Olupayimo, the President of the staff Cooperative number 1 and Dr. Kehinde Adenegan, the Secretary of the Adeyemi Staff cooperative society (water) all delivered remarkable goodwill messages. 

The representative of the Director of cooperative services, Mr. Olarewaju who is the Ondo local government cooperative services coordinator, who also came with his crew, congratulated members on the success recorded and gave his professional advice on how to move the society forward.

Meanwhile, Mr. Olarewaju has earlier sworn in the new executive. Performing the swearing in, Dr. Oloyede led the new executive in taking the oath of office as the President. Others include Dr. Michael Oyetayo (secretary), Dr. Mrs. Olupayimo (treasurer), Mr. O. F. Agun and Mrs. Lanre-Atoyebi (Assistant Secretary).

Akinbobola, the Director centre of excellence, Dr. Samuel Olagunju, the event master of ceremony, Mr. Iranola Ibidapo, the Chairman Pure ACE Coop Water, Prince Bamigboye Ipinlaye, Dr. Kehinde Adenegan, representative of the ACE Staff CMS Ltd (Water), Vice Dean, School of degree studies, Dr. Rogers Akinsokeji, and other notable members of academic staff.
