I n a celebration of Mathematics and education, the Ife Maths Festival, christened IFEMATHFEST2024 was held at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ife, Nigeria on Pi Day, which is universally celebrated on March 14 coinciding with the digits 3 1 4.. The event brought together educators, students, and experts in the field of mathematics to discuss and address challenges in teaching the subject effectively. The funeral of Pa Ayodele Ambrose Oke, who passed away at the age of 91 on February 14, which was a Valentine's day, was a solemn and dignified event that honored his life and legacy. The funeral service took place on March 1st at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Ayeyemi, Ondo. Prior to the burial, a remarkable christian wake keep service was held at his Ayeyemi residence in Abayomi street, where family, friends, and well-wishers gathered to pay their respects and celebrate his life. Pa Ayodele Ambrose Oke, a respected Ondo indigene, was finally laid to rest at St. Leo's cemetery to join the saints triumphant as he marched home like a valiant soldier who has seen, fought and conquered. After the committal , a grand funeral reception was held at the popular OFM (Osebosola Fajemirokun Memorial) Hall opposite FFF junction in Oka, Ondo.
