Safety Awareness Program Held for Commercial Motorcyclists

A safety awareness program was jointly organized by the Rotary Club of Ondo-Adeyemi and Special Marshals FRSC Unit 15 of Adeyemi Federal University of Education, targeting commercial motorcyclists. The event took place at the university's sport complex on December 11, 2025.

The program aimed to educate commercial motorcyclists on safety measures and road traffic regulations to reduce accidents and promote responsible riding practices.

Rot. Dr. Kehinde Adenegan, President of the Rotary Club of Ondo-Adeyemi, gave the opening and closing remarks, informing attendees about the Rotary Club's mission and values, emphasizing service to humanity and promoting peace. He also highlighted the special duties of the Special Marshals, including enforcing traffic regulations and promoting road safety.

Meanwhile, Barr. Roberts Akinkuoye, the Master of Ceremony, elaborated on the Rotary Club President's remarks, setting the tone for the program.

The speakers at the event included Marshal Adebayo Jadebo the special marshals state coordinator, who discussed the importance of proper dressing while riding, Commandant Ogunwumi, the FRSC Ondo Unit Commandant, who spoke on sign rules and traffic regulations, and Mrs. Akinkuolie, the unit 15 coordinator, who emphasized safety awareness and responsible riding practices.

The program featured interactive sessions, with attendees actively participating in discussions and asking questions. The event aimed to equip commercial motorcyclists with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the roads safely and responsibly. After light refreshment was served, the Rotary Club, through her president, distributed free motorcycle/car stickers promoting safety among riders and drivers. The club also promised to buy head helmet for the first rider to get to the program venue. 

The safety awareness program is part of ongoing efforts by the Rotary Club and FRSC to promote road safety and reduce accidents involving commercial motorcyclists in the region.


Present at the events were past special marshals Dozens and Engr. Dafiawhare who were given special recognition awards, other Rotarians-Past Presidents Olatuyi and Okoroafor, special marshals Professors Nwakpa, Adekunle, Akinwonmi, Akinmurele and host of others whose names are too numerous to mention including notable executive members of the Adeyemi riders association.
