In a heartwarming display of community support and commitment to education, St. Patrick's Anglican Church Ijebu Owo just gifted students with essential school items as they prepare for the new academic session. The presentation ceremony was presided over by the vicar of the church and an Archdeacon, Ven. Dr. Olatunde Abiodun. The event took place at the conclusion of the Sunday service, held in the church auditorium on 14th September 2025, where members of the congregation gathered to celebrate the importance of education and give back to the next generation.
The event was graced by the church members and some prominent figures of the church, including the Royal Queen of Ojomo Oluda of Ijebu, who was invited to make a special presentation of school bags to selected Sunday school children. This gesture was met with joy and gratitude from the recipients, who were visibly thrilled to receive the thoughtful gifts. The school bags are expected to help the young students carry their books and learning materials with ease as they head back to school.
In addition to the Royal Queen's presentation, Prof. Taiwo Adenegan and Dr. Kehinde Adenegan were also called by the church vicar to make a significant impact by presenting customized notebooks, pencils, and pens to students across various levels of education. The items were distributed to kindergarten pupils, primary school students, secondary school students, and even university students, ensuring that no one was left out. This broad outreach underscores the church's commitment to supporting learners at every stage of their educational journey.
The church members’ donation of educational materials reflects their dedication to empowering young minds and fostering a love for learning. Their initiative aligns with the church’s mission to make education accessible and enjoyable for all.
