The danger Nigeria leaders have exposed the citizens to - Margaret Oluyamo
The President of Women Organizations in Ijesa North Diocese has exposed the dangers Nigeria leaders have exposed the citizens to. "Nigerian leaders have handed the nation to devourers!" This is a statement credited to the quintessential, visionary, passionate and amiable wife of the Lord Bishop of Ijesa North Diocese, Dr. Mrs Margaret Olusola Oluyamo.
Margaret Oluyamo made this exposure while speaking on the state of the nation in her presidential address delivered at St. Paul's Anglican church Esa Oke in Osun State on Friday, 14th October, 2022 with the theme; Your will be done (Matt.6:10). "As mothers, we put it to the leadership of this country that they have deliberately handed our nation to devourers! We shall continue to call upon our God. He will hear and judge accordingly", Oluyamo declared.
The Mama Ijesa North, Margaret Oluyamo, lamented the roles partly played by Nigeria leaders in the misfortune of the nation. "Most of these leaders have shown lack of interest in the progress of this country because they have alternatives in countries that are well developed", she asserted!
The Bishop's wife bemoaned the way the nation's leaders have destroyed the fabrics to build other nations. "They encourage the disintegration of this country by their actions and inactions. They only present appealing manifestos to the people which they breach after getting into power. They lack creative ideas which can increase the productivity of the country", Oluyamo blew out! She further decried those educated leaders who get into power but run out of initiatives to build the country, whose intelligence have been replaced with undue crave for wealth and power.
Margaret Oluyamo, a PhD holder and a versed public motivational speaker and ACNN regular presenter, did not fail to lend her voice to the lingering ASUU strike which took over eight months for anything to temporarily come out of it when paid legislative leaders taught by these worried lecturers are busy sponsoring their children and wards overseas to study. Worst still, some of them whose consciences are not pricked, would even flaunt their children's educations in institutions abroad on social media for Nigerians to see the social class they belong while the Educational facilities are decaying in their nation.
"Of more worry is the fact that Boko Haram demanded a total destruction of education in this country and our leaders feel at home about it! If not, is there any way our Government can be justified by the prolonged ASUU strike?", Oluyamo retorted. She urged leaders at all levels to rule and lead in righteousness as posterity will judge anyone who decides not to do the right thing.
In her address, Mama Oluyamo further enjoined women to accept the challenge to rise up as mothers in Israel to the task of delivering the nation from the jaws of devourers. She categorically urged women to work on their homes, strengthen their family altars, discard evil prophecies about the nation, believe in God who makes revolution, desist from speaking ill of the nation, put on the whole armour of God, and rise in faith and prayers for their fallen nation.
Speaking on the theme of the conference, the President of the women Organization, Olusola Oluyamo revealed that the will of God can be defined in many ways. She said, in a broader term, "the will of God is what God wants to be done at every time or specific period of time".
She further highlighted different concepts that are referred to as God's will. These are; God's plan, God's command, directive, discerned will, perfect will, and proscribed will. She enumerated factors which can hinder God's will like unregenerate heart, ignorance and unbelief. Others are fear, peer pressure, and sin.
The epic of the programme was the award recognition given to some noble members of the community, both home and in diaspora. Also, the episcopal prayer downpour rained by the Lord Bishop of the Diocese, the Rt. Revd. Dr. Isaac IwabiOlorun Oluyamo during the conference thanksgiving.
Earlier, after the beautiful presentation of the address by Mama Ijesa North, individuals and Archdeaconry representatives in turn came out to appreciate the wife of the Lord Bishop. The women were all adorably dressed in white, blue and green attires symbolizing the Mothers' Union and Women's Guild with the Priests' wives whose husbands also graced the occasion to honour the women.
Dr. Oluyamo, in her presentation, showcased the WINAD vocational and business institute as well as the WINAD water factory owned by the women Organization of the Diocese. Tremendously, the institute has been fairing well! She urged the teaming youths to take advantage of the prestigious institute to learn vocation of their choice. She equally canvassed patronage of the organization's table and bottled water which are NAFDAC certified.
While expressing the achievements of the women Organization in the Diocese, Margaret Oluyamo highlighted, "we have twice given sewing machines (17 per graduation) and cake mixers to the graduands of WINAD Vocational and Business Institute". She further disclosed the women's organization efforts at rescuing the young ones from the evil of the time. Listed among the lofty programmes of the women include among others:
1. A Modern Nursery/Primary/Secondary School in Ilowa Ijesa through the benevolence of Professor Jide Ajayi;
2. The Sunday School to be taken more seriously by the Women Organization and Clergy wives;
3. Financial assistance granted to members that has been of tremendous benefits to them;
4. The Diocesan trainers' workshop on God's will in marriage
5. Young wives fellowship whose maiden edition took place at Rehoboth mountain in June 2022.
Meanwhile, the invited guests who had supported the women's work with their presence and gifts, were also decorated and honoured. The guests of honour included Pastor & Pastor Mrs. Jacob Ogunleye, Dr. Ola Ibigbami, Mrs. Mojisola Ajayi, Ch. Titus Fatokun, Prof. Mrs. Olusola Ologunde and Hon. Arch. Muyiwa Ige. Others are, Prof. Funke Adebayo, Mr. & Mrs. Olapade Odedele, Prof. Taiwo Olowokure and Prof. Abiodun Adebayo, the Vice Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo.
