Adeyemi Registrar becomes Rotary President, pledges growth and club sustainability
The incumbent Registrar of the Adeyemi College of Education (Now Adeyemi Federal University of Education) Ondo, Mrs. Olufisayo Fakorede, has now been crowned the 10th President of the Rotary Club of Ondo-Adeyemi College.
The event which was held at the school of Languages board room on 5th July, 2022 had the outgoing President, Rotn. Elizabeth Okoroafor handed over the baton of leadership to the astute administrator. Fakorede, who was highly overwhelmed by the support and attendance of the club members, as well as the guests remarked, "I received this baton today to begin another year's journey to add value to our club, club's membership and development. I will build on existing structures and add new innovative ideas in my capacity".
In her words, Rotn Elizabeth Okoroafor, while handing over the baton of leadership to the new President, remarked, "I have worked with every member of the club and found how supportive you are all and I earnestly covet your unflinching support for the new President. Please do your best to keep the flag of the club flying".
It was indeed a remarkable year for the Imo born erudite scholar who led the rotary club of Ondo-Adeyemi College for the year 2021/2022. Meanwhile, she instituted a project, "Special Mini e-Library for Special Students", which hopefully had been handed over to the new president for completion, an implementation she has started during her tenure.
Meanwhile, disclosing to the guests in attendance, Fakorede opened up that the mustered seed planted in 2013 by Sir Chief Ayo Akingbule and Rot Bisi Adegoke (PDG) has blossomed to what has become the Rotary club of Ondo-Adeyemi College today. She promised to ensure proper training for all members in the spirit and good understanding of rotary. Corroborating this, Okoroafor stated, "from a 10-man membership club, the club has registered 21 active members and one honorary member which has earned the club a district award to that effect".
The presidential night had the likes of change maker presidents Rotn.Dr. Obadua of Akure metro, Rotn. Adesoji Samson Omotade, Chattered President of Akure Prestige,Rotn Adeyefa, Owo Metro president, Rot. Ojuleke, Rot. Batimiye from Akure, who was the guest speaker at the event, Rot. Patricks Adeyeye, Ondo. Others included PAG Bosede Olanusi, PPs Dr Kehinde Adenegan, Dr Cecelia Olarewaju, Dr. Justina Ogboru and host of other noble members of the rotary club of Ondo-Adeyemi College and Ondo.
Other non-rotarian guests were Dr. Ibukunoluwa Johnson, the Deputy Chief Medical Director of Adeyemi College health centre, the chairman of SUCCOEN, Mrs. Fajiye, a deputy Registrar in the College, among other numerous guests just to mention but a few.
Club awards and certificates of recognition were given to outstanding members of the club. Guests were specially treated to assorted meals and drinks by Madam Theresa catering services. Equally, buga dance stole the day through the DJ selected musical songs while the event was glamourously covered by AGES (ADEMMAK Global Events Showbiz).
