Oni dedicates new church, foresees a new Nigeria with great future

The Anglican Bishop of the Diocese of Ondo, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Stephen Adeniran Oni, has dedicated an Anglican church located at Laje, an agrarian community, in Ondo state. On Thursday March 9, 2023 marked a remarkable day in the history of the church that has existed since the year 1952. History has it that some christians who were predominantly farmers in the settlement came together,  from various denominations and town so as to worship God in unity. They all made the decision to always gather at the house of one Mr. Opadokun of blessed memory. This house fellowship then translated to the new All Saints church Laje.  While recalling the memory lane, the Bishop whose joy knew no bound remarked that the church had passed through thick and thin to be able to get to this level. Owo Diocese celebrates 40th anniversary, inducts Akeredolu, Ajasin, others into hall of fame

History was again made in the Diocese of Owo on Wednesday 1st March. 2023 as the Diocese celebrated 40 years of existence and inducted some past and serving heroes of the church into hall of fame . The Cathedral church of Saint Andrews Imola Owo was filled to capacity with dignitaries from within and outside the state who came to celebrate the inauguration of the diocese. It would be recalled that Owo Diocese was inaugurated on March 1, 1983, with the Late Rt. Revd. Abraham Awosan as the first enthroned Bishop.  At a two-in-one program which began with a eucharist service, conducted by the Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Dr. Stephen Ayodeji Fagbemi. The induction into the hall of fame followed after the communion service . The Archbishop of Ondo Province, the Most Revd. Dr. Simeon Oluwole Borokini delivered the sermon. Rotary club investiture: Makinde, Olugbeko, Ogunsakin and BOVAS receive awards

There are days but these days are different from each other in connection with the happenings of each day. February 18 was a remarkable day in the history of Rotary Club of Ondo-Adeyemi College where Rotarian Olufisayo Olukemi Fakorede PHF, had her investiture which coincided with her birthday. Some well-meaning Nigerians were given special recognition awards at the event.  At the investiture ceremony , Mr Lanre Ogunsakin, who doubled as the chairman of the occasion, was given an award for humanitarian service. Ogunsakin who is a leading globally acclaimed transformation and continuous improvement consultant, and an ordained minister of the gospel, was awarded for his involvement in humanitarian services.
