St. Louis old girls renovate school library, celebrate 30th year anniversary
The 1995 set of Old Girls of St. Louis Secondary School, Ondo, celebrated their 30th anniversary in grand style on December 12, 2025. The event was a poignant reunion of classmates, teachers, and memories, marking three decades of shared experiences and growth.
The 3-day programme kicked off with the official opening of the renovated school library, a fitting tribute to the institution that shaped their lives. The library ceiling which was in a dilapidated state and the paints in the shadow of itself received a new baptism through the concerted efforts of the Bimbo-Foluke led ladies of remarkable virtues and glory.
The celebrants also shared laughter and joy at Nibanola Recreational Centre, enjoying fun and games together after leaving the people's home where the dynamic ladies all celebrated the yuletide season with the less privileged and donated assorted food items and consumables which were acknowledged by the Rev. Father Akinmujimu.
The saturday evening's festivities continued with a dinner party at Akiavic Blue Roof Hotel, where their beloved teachers were honored for their dedication and impact on their lives, among whom were Mrs. Akinladenu, Mrs. Olubukunola Olotu, Mr. Akinkyotu, Mrs. Olufisayo Fakorede and Mrs. Elizabeth Okoroafor. Bimbo Masaku delivered a heartfelt opening remark, taking attendees on a nostalgic journey down memory lane, reminiscing about their 30-year experiences.
Inspiring talks were given by esteemed speakers, including Mrs. Olubukunola Olotu, former Director of Counselling and Human Development at Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo, and a proud old girl; Ms Patience Obehi Enahoro, who joined remotely from Lagos, also shared her thoughts, offering words of wisdom and encouragement.
On a remarkable note, Mrs. Foluke Fawehinmi, a US based old girl and one of the coordinators of the 95 set gave a closing remarks and vote of thanks. She wholeheartedly appreciated all her mates both in Nigeria and in diaspora for making the programme worthwhile and memorable. She specially appreciated Mrs. Omoyemi Adenegan who was a great pillar of support in ensuring smooth success of the jointly planned programme. The height of the event was when Bimbo Masaku was celebrated as the dinner date coincides with her birthday.
It was indeed a memorable night to reunite, refresh, mingle, and wine together, creating new memories to cherish for years to come. On Sunday, December 14, 2025, a thanksgiving mass was held at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Oke Igbala, to express gratitude for the journey so far. There and then they sang there Ebenezer - hitherto God has helped them.
