Ondo holds special carol and majestic praise
The Anglican Diocese of Ondo has held a maiden tripartite end of the year program coined herald of good tidings. The program accommodated the majestic praise, Christmas Carol and priests & priests' wives end of the year get-together.
In that remarkable service, the peak of the event is the special rendition of the Clergymen which the Lord Bishop of Ondo Diocese, Rt. Revd. Dr. Stephen Adeniran Oni led the Clergymen to lead a special Rendition at the 2023 special Diocesan Christmas Carol and majestic praise held in the Cathedral church of St. Stephen, Oke Aluko Ondo.In his short exhortation, the Rev..'Biodun Adegbulu, spoke from the context of the program theme, "herald of good tidings" as recorded in Isaiah 52:7. "If you celebrate in this season without Christ, the reason for this season, then your celebration is incomplete", Rev. 'Biodun concluded.In the same vein, the yesteryears church choir members led by the like of Baba Ijo of St. Peters Wasimi, Ch. Akingbemisilu and some other church chiefs, rendered Christmas Carol song in their old age voices.
The service was spiced with varieties of songs ministration, playlet by the children -youth arm of the Diocese, Diocesan choir, music ministers and the like.
Meanwhile, in his concluding remarks, Bishop Oni said that this program has come to stay, whose combination was actually necessitated by the fuel hike, funds scarcity and economic hardship. "Despite all these that we faced in the year, the name of God is to be praised as we are more than conquerors", Oni emphasized.
While thanking the women folks of the entire Diocese, Mama Ondo, Blessing Oyewola Oni, wholeheartedly appreciated the women and the men as well for the great supports received by the women organization. She used the opportunity to openly appreciate all the stakeholders that have rendered one service or the other to the women organization. Topping her list of gift appreciations, is Mrs. 'Joke Adeleye, the wife of the Dean of the Cathedral, other Archdeacons wives, school board members, and other committee members of the women's organization.
In a separate exclusive interviews with Mrs. Victoria Ajoke Akinsete and Ven. Dr. Taiwo Akintade. The duo expressed thankfulness to the Almighty God. In the word of the cleric and a University Don, Dr.Akintade declared, "I see year 2024 as year that God is going to conquer all that have conquered us and grant victory to us and the country Nigeria". He unveiled that his personal experience in the winding year is very remarkable.
In the same vein, Mrs. Akinsete (JP), a retired and versatile primary school Headmistress enjoined all to be thankful and be hopeful in the year ahead. She lauded the efforts of the Ondo Diocesan and his amiable wife for all the physical, spiritual and dynamic developments witnessed in the Diocese.
Present at the special occasion we're the church dignitaries, church chiefs, ministers' wives, clerics, children, youths and some illustrious sons and daughters of Ondo kingdom that came home for holiday.
