Nigerians drum support for Adenegan's 7-point agenda for 2026
Just like the President Bola Tinubu' renewed hope agenda, Nigerians are rallying behind Dr. Kehinde Emmanuel Adenegan's ambitious 7-point agenda for the 2025/2026 Rotary year, following his investiture as the 13th President of the Rotary Club of Ondo-Adeyemi, held on 4th October, 2024.
The event, held at Adeyemi Federal University of Education in Ondo, drew distinguished guests from the university community, business world, political class, and beyond. Dr. Adenegan's agenda focuses on unity, development, and service to humanity, with projects including provision of healthcare facilities at the Adeyemi University Health Centre and free ICT training for 100 university staff.
Other project agenda include road safety awareness program for commercial motorcyclists; resuscitation and re-equipping of the Learning Resource Centre for visually impaired students; feeding support for the visually impaired students; operation keep the campus clean and production of monthly newsletter.
The crowd was particularly moved by Rotarian Adenegan's inclusive vision, which aims to empower visually impaired students with modern assistive technologies. The club's annual feeding support program for these students has also garnered widespread appreciation.
The ceremony saw a generous outpouring of donations, demonstrating strong support for Dr. Adenegan's vision. The university community, under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Professor Bayode Popoola, has expressed its backing for the initiative as echoed through his representative, Rot. Olufisayo Fakorede (PHF) who doubles as the Registrar of the University.
"Those interested in supporting my 7-point agenda can still do even after this ceremony. The club's account will be made publicly available and all donations will be acknowledged, appreciated and accounted for. United we stand and let's jointly make this rotary year a great reality", Adenegan concluded.
As Rot. Kehinde Adenegan, an IT guru, a first-class brain mathematician, and a popular social media influencer on YouTube (Yoruba Mathematics Class and AI & Tech Skills channels), embarks on his tenure, Nigerians are coming together to make a lasting impact. With his leadership, the Rotary Club of Ondo-Adeyemi is poised to drive meaningful change in the community.
The event, which was held in hybrid mode, was attended and supported by many well meaning Nigerians among whom were Assistant Governor Akinkuotu who represented the District 9126 Governor, Rot. Funkeakpo Batife, Rot. Prof. Tope Oziegbe who handed over to him, Mr. Johnson Olaniyi, a regional head in Dangote Group of Companies, Hon. Chief Adeola, Ch. Steve Akinretoye, Prof. Taiwo Adenegan, Hon. Dr. Akin Awodeyi-Akinsehinwa.
Others include Dr. Adebayo Ganiyu, a man Adenegan referred to as one of his mentors, Rotarian Olufisayo Fakorede PHF (AFUED Registrar), Dr. Samuel Ogunniyi, PD Consult CEO Rot. Mayokun Adelakun who is the club President Elect, Barr. Robert Akinkuoye, Mrs. Oluseto Olatuyi who anchored the program, Mrs. Doyin Arokoyu, Engr. Taye Ajayi, Mr. Simeon Fagbade Kofo Ogunyankin Zone chairman who led his community delegation to the event, Mr. Sanyaolu Ayodeji (a banker and newly inducted member), Mrs. Yemi Adejare, among others. Adenegan was not left alone without his beautiful wife, Josephine Adenegan and Son confidence who were over and around him to see the program turned a huge success.
