2023 is going to be different from other years, Akinyemi declares

As we entered the new year, many clerics have been giving different predictions about the new year 2023. The words of Ven David Akinyemi, the vicar of St. Patrick's Anglican church Ijebu Owo in Owo Anglican Diocese, came in another significant dimension.

Speaking to the congregation on the first day of the year, Akinyemi said that 2023 is special in the calendar years. "The year is unique as 2034 is the next year that will replicate the 2023 date among others which are 2045, 2054, 2079 and the like. It's not very common for the calendar years to begin with a Sunday, a day of the Lord", Akinyemi explained! He further said that any year that begins with Sunday is always special. He urged Nigerians to take note of this special year as it will be so remarkable in Nigeria! Add
To enjoy the year 2023, Ven. Akinyemi enjoined church members to hold on to God's promise of blessings in Deuteronomy 28 verse 1 by obeying God. He expressed in the video chat with AGES that the message of the day is not his personal words but of God. He encouraged Nigerians to live by God's manual to be able to sail through the virgin year.
Meanwhile, a strong member of the All Progressive Party and the Ondo State  Federal Character Commissioner in Abuja, Chief Lawrence Olufemi Omosanya, who is also the Otun Baba Ijo of the church corroborated the message of the priest by maintaining that the year is significant and that abiding in God's presence will be a great blessing for everyone in the year. "As for me, beginning a fresh year with the Lord is a blessing. I enjoin all and sundry to take time to appreciate God as individuals and family and to have a strong faith to sail through the year", Omosanya added.
Feeding questions from AGES, a parishioner, Mrs. Omobola Oladipo, a chattered accountant and an astute administrator in Ondo state ministry, maintained that, it is strict obedience to God's words that can open abundant blessings. In her words, she said, "my aspiration in the new year is to listen and continue to listen the more to God to be blessed and as well be source of blessings to others in the year".
Earlier in the service, the children choir was presented a processional cross donated by the church Vicar, Ven. David Akinyemi, which Eriayomi Adenegan bored as the children choir cross bearer after the service. The service was a remarkable one, being the first service of the year. Holy eucharist was celebrated by the Rev'd Canon Sunday Fasaanu with general thanksgiving as well as individual thanksgiving from the Hon. Chief Solomon Adenegan's family and Chief Bisi Ogunleye's family.

Among those present at the unique service were Dr. & Mrs. Oladipo, Chief & Mrs. Olufemi Omosanya, Ch. Mrs. Adesida, the church wardens led by High Chief Aladenusi,  the Executive Secretary of AGES, Dr. Kehinde Adenegan, his Twin brother, Prof. Taiwo Adenegan, Arch. Prince Gbenga Ojomo, Her Majesty Olori Ojomo, Mr. & Mrs. Egona, Chief Joseph Alamu and other church chiefs.
