Rotary club investiture: Makinde, Olugbeko, Ogunsakin and BOVAS receive awards

There are days but these days are different from each other in connection with the happenings of each day. February 18 was a remarkable day in the history of Rotary Club of Ondo-Adeyemi College where Rotarian Olufisayo Olukemi Fakorede PHF, had her investiture which coincided with her birthday. Some well-meaning Nigerians were given special recognition awards at the event.  At the investiture ceremony , Mr Lanre Ogunsakin, who doubled as the chairman of the occasion, was given an award for humanitarian service. Ogunsakin who is a leading globally acclaimed transformation and continuous improvement consultant, and an ordained minister of the gospel, was awarded for his involvement in humanitarian services. Lady Aduke Adewole goes home as children extol her virtues

  The prayers of old parents are that they live to enjoy the days of their lives and depart this sinful world peacefully, having well-meaning children to take care of them and what they will leave behind. "There is time for everything so says the holy scriptures". The case is not different with Lady Felicia Aduke Adewole as she transited to the world beyond after living a fulfilling 91 years on planet Earth. Her funeral was a talk of the town and memorable one as her children, family, friends and well-meaning Nigerians celebrated her glorious exit.  Her  funeral service , which was held at Holy Trinity Anglican church Yaba, Ondo was very glorious. Old naira notes, fuel scarcity mar church services and attendance in Ondo

  It is no longer news that the federal government of Nigeria has announced 31st January 2020 today as the deadline for the acceptance of the old naira notes, 200, 500 and 1000 respectively before the rumored shift which has now been confirmed on BBC news pidgin . Now put with the fuel scarcity and price hike of the commodity, these have become another great challenge for worshipers in Ondo city on the last  Sunday of the month.  Many churches visited by AGES correspondents revealed expressly that the churches were sparsely populated while many seats were apparently empty, with very few people in attendance. Some of the church members interviewed who claimed anonymity said that they have to treck short distance from their homes to the church because of proximity but for members whose homes are far away from the church, such could neither attend service for lack of fuel while some complain about money.
