RC Ondo-Adeyemi college gets new president, promises remarkable projects in the university community

 

President promises installation of solar light, CCTV cameras and borehole in Adeyemi campus.

The promise of installation of solar light, CCTV cameras and borehole in Adeyemi campus was made by the 11th President of the Rotary Club of Ondo-Adeyemi College, Rotn Olaitan Taiwo Abiola during her investiture ceremony held on Saturday 16th September, 2023. She presented this while reading her acceptance speech and also emphasized that while granting interviews to AGES correspondent after the event. 



Meanwhile, the club project chairman, Rotn. Mayokun Adelakun, revealed in detail that the club is poised to deliver a good and quality service to the host community by providing 20 solar lights and 20 CCTV cameras for the coverage of the campus to illuminate the dark spot and also serve as digital security to the university community. 


"Equally, we are planning to sink additional borehole for the university community to ease water and sanitation challenges in our host environment", Olaitan added. In his complimentary presentation, Rotn Adelakun also said that a manually operated borehole will be sunk to remove the issue of fuel, light and the like when the need of water arises since the club had earlier sunk two boreholes in the campus before. 

Earlier, while rendering her account of stewardship before ha ding over to Rotn Olaitan Taiwo Abiola, the immediate past president of the Club, Rotn Olufisayo Olukemi Fakorede PHF, highlighted what the club has done in the past and the recent renovation and presentation of a center for e-library for the physically challenged and visually impaired students of the university. 



After Olaitan received the mantle of leadership, she presented the club awards to distinguished awardees who were specially invited to grace the occasion. These include Pastor Folu Bademosi "Asodedero", a political stalwart, Dr. Babatunde Apata, the Bursar of Bamidele Olumiluwa University Ekiti, Dr. Ibukunoluwa Johnson, and Dr. Olufemi Olajuyigbe. Others were Comrade Elder Adewole Olasan former president of SUCCOEN, PAG Dr. Kelvin Meyeyin, the Zonal District Coordinator of  Rotary International District 9125 and the chairman of the occasion, Chief Nehemiah Olusola Ebiseni. The Kabiyesi, Elekusa of Ekusa Odo Otin, Oba John Adegbite Makanjuola Oyelusi III was not exempted in the presentation as the club presented a four-way test plague to his royal majesty who was represented by Prince Adekanle Makanjuola. 



Her installation was witnessed by many Rotarians accross the state and Nigeria. Leading the team of Ondo State Hope Presidents to the event was Rotn. Surv. Abiodun Adigun with other eminent personalities of the rotary club. The Dean of the School of Education, Dr. Akinyemi Olufunminiyi Akinbobola who also is the Chairman of Dean's and Directors in Adeyemi Federal University of Education Ondo was physically present in company of some other Deans and Directors in the Institution of learning.

Ipele-Owo attack: cleric allays Nigerians fear as worshippers desert churches on January 1

A cleric, Ven. Dr. Olatunde Abiodun, has urged Nigerians to remain calm and not be intimidated by recent attacks nor purported fearful actions around, including the Ipele-Owo incident, where gunmen attacked a police station on New Year's Eve causing the popular crossover night to be abruptly brought to an end in many churches within and around Owo, resulting in a great panic, fear and unimaginable tension in the ancient town and its environs.
