"Don't be afraid to take positive steps!" This was an "ember" advice handed to women in the Diocese of Ondo and worldwide by the wife of the Lord Bishop of Ondo Diocese, Mrs. Oyewola Blessing Oni, at the 90th women's guild conference held at the Cathedral church of St. Stephens Oke Aluko, Ondo. She said this during her presidential address delivered in the presence of Bishop, clergymen, lay members, dignitaries and teaming guests.
Addressing the August gathering held in September, Mama Ondo, Oyewola Oni advised women, on the theme of the annual conference, titled "Pressing forward", to keep pressing forward as it will surely be well. "Apparently, with high hike in commodities' prices, inflation everywhere, poor salary scale non-measurable to reality, non-payment of pensions, insecurity, among others are disturbing issues that can cause stagnancy, but be of good courage and take courageous steps to move forward", Mrs. Oni echoed.

Speaking further in her address, the wife of the Bishop who doubles as an astute administrator at the Adeyemi Federal University of Education Ondo, highlighted five significant steps needed to be taken to press forward. These she read in the Yorùbá indigenous language in her twenty-page address. These include faith, words of advice, guidance, confidence, trust in God. She further itemized other ten hindrances to pressing forward which include lack of tolerance, accepting discouraging words, allowing lies, listening to fables and so on. She urged women accross the Diocese and beyond without excluding men to take bold and positive steps to press forward not minding these challenges as light will show at the end of the tunnel.

The official opening ceremony which by default was programmed to be for the presidential address later, by divine arrangement turned a revival hour after the presidential address of Mama Ondo. A powerful prayer session was led by the Diocesan, Rt. Revd. Dr. Stephen Adeniran Oni who stirred the congregation into firebrand orchestrated prayers that can move heaven.
The height of the event was the decorations and award presentation to two notable Ondo indigenes who are committed members of the Anglican Communion, Chief E. O. Oníléowó and Chief Mrs. Lydia Kéhìndé Ògúnmákin. The duo who were presented the awards, on behalf of the women organization, by Ven. Dr. Tunde Olowosusi and the Dean of the Cathedral, Ven. Solomon Adeleye.
The event was well attended by well meaning individuals, women of substance, dignitaries, clergymen of the Diocese led by the Ven. Solomon Adeleye, the Dean of the Cathedral, the captain of the Lord's army and the chief Shepherd of the Diocese, Bishop Adeniran Oni, PhD and other notable chiefs of Ondo kingdom.
