Afolabi celebrates retirement in grand style, attributes success to God's grace

No joy surpasses for a man who begins a work and ends it successfully! This is not different for Dr. Festus Oluwole Afolabi, an erudite scholar, a teacher of teacher and an astute administrator humility personified, an amiable lecturer and a God ordained Professor, who clocked 65 years after about 35 years of meritorious service to the nation, God and humanity.
Afolabi sees himself as an embodiment of Grace. In his words, while giving special remarks during the special thanksgiving service which was held at the Way of Holiness Chapel Headquarters Ondo, "I thank God for people God has brought around me to make me who I am today, academically, spiritually and the like". He recognized the grace of God that has been there for him over the years, and especially in his lifetime careers. Flanked by his amiable wife, Christiana Oluranti Afolabi, both of whom were well dressed in local and gorgeous red Aso Oke, and white lace, danced to the glory of God to appreciate the retirement.
While reciting the celebrant's citation, elder Olasuyi highlighted the attributes of this academic giant who had over 100 publications in his lifetime before retirement. He extolled the virtues of this erudite scholar, popularly called "Baba Bimbo" as an accessible, approachable, amiable and dynamic personality. The compendium of testimonies given by different members of the Adeyemi Federal University community, his church members, family friends and well wishers with other different individuals, appreciated the grace of God in the life of Afolabi and wished him the best in retirement.

Meanwhile, in his words during the exhortation, the General Overseer of the Way of Holiness Chapel, Pastor Dr. Johnson Falade, attributed the success of the career of Dr. Afolabi as an evidence of the grace of God. He advised friends and well-wishers who came to celebrate with the great Professor never to take the grace of God in vain. "This is a journey of grace indeed! Many pregnancies were aborted. It is not all dreams that do come to pass but for Dr. Afolabi today, this is a different story, of grace", Pastor Falade added.
Various guests of the celebrant, special guests, Deans and Directors from AFUED, clergymen and renowned individuals were all present at the event to celebrate with the erudite scholar. Some of the guests in attendance were Dr. Adebola Akinbobola, the Chairman of committee of Dean's and Directors at AFUED, Tope Oziegbe, Dr. & Mrs. Ekundayo Ogunmosin, Dr. Musili Odutuyi, Comrade Olaolu Olaniyan, Dr. Matthew Lawal, Evang. Mrs. Bukola Fadoju, Prof. & Dr. Mrs. Loto, Comrade Joseph Obamoyegun, and Ven. Dairo Faremi. Others include, Dr. Kehinde Adenegan, Dr. Rotimi Akinniranye, Pastor Dr. Jacob Adelusi, Pastor Fadeni, Mr. Taiwo Akinola, among others.
