Febisola Adekeye celebrates 80 in grand style

 

The Yeyeluwa of Ondo Kingdom, Chief Mrs. Febisola Amope Adekeye has again celebrated her 80th birthday in grand style in Ondo city. It would be recalled that the educationist, disciplinarian, feminist, political figure, epitome of beauty, and royal class octogenarian celebrated her 70 in 2013 but the 2023 edition is another talk of the town. 

A birthday service which was commemorated with an holy eucharist celebrated by the Bishop of Ondo Anglican Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Stephen Adeniran Oni at St. Andrews Anglican church, Idimoge Ondo, on Saturday 21st January 2023, was very memorable. 

Mama Febisola Adekeye, fondly called Auty Febi, was apparently dressed in Red Ondo "Aso Oke, Alaari" spiced with a glittering white lace and flanked by her children and in-laws in same attire.

In his sermon, Rt. Rev. Dr. Stephen Adeniran Oni spoke on the Mercy of God. He refered Mama Adekeye as an object of God's mercy. Speaking on the good virtues of the celebrant, Bishop Oni remarked, "Aunty Febi" was a rallying  point for her siblings, a person that is very mindful of her community. A woman with humble heart to take instructions".

Eni ba ti l'oruko l'awujo ko le se manamana, Mama we le se un dede bi tatijo mo, tori wo ti no'uko", Oni reiterated in Yoruba and Ondo dialect". Meaning, anyone who has dignified name in the society cannot afford to misbehave any longer and Mama is not an exception with her class, name and dignity, as she is a woman of repute in Ondo Kingdom. 


Speaking further during the sermon, Bishop Oni sang  "O s'ohun tuntun l'aye mi ko da'wo duro, aanu ni mo ri gba,... and he categorically expressed to Mama, "You're what you are by His grace!" 

In his words, concluding his sermon, the renowned Bishop declared that there is going to be a terrific manifestation soonest in Nigeria and that Nigeria is already there. The Bishop bemoaned the worrisome situations in Nigeria and declared that God's judgement is imminent which is going to be this year. "This year, Nigerians will shout, this is the Lord! this is the Lord!!", Bishop Oni concluded. 

People came from different walks of life to celebrate the worthy and industrious woman of valour, Mama Febisola Adekeye. Present at the service were Senator & Ch. Mrs. Mamora, Former Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr.  Victor Kiladejo, the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom and his amiable wife, Olori Olayinka Kiladejo, the Adaja of Ondo Kingdom, Princess Bola Osungbemiro, Ch. Dr.&Dr. Mrs. Femi Awani, Mrs. Stella Obong, Headmistress of Graceland Nursery and Primary School Ondo (Mama Adekeye's school) with all her staff, Dr. Kehinde Adenegan, founder of AGES, Engr.& Mrs. Olanubi, among others.

The event did not end without the special tantalizing moment experienced by guests who were treated to special delicacies at the Lande Event hall situated in the heart of Ondo city.

Ipele-Owo attack: cleric allays Nigerians fear as worshippers desert churches on January 1

A cleric, Ven. Dr. Olatunde Abiodun, has urged Nigerians to remain calm and not be intimidated by recent attacks nor purported fearful actions around, including the Ipele-Owo incident, where gunmen attacked a police station on New Year's Eve causing the popular crossover night to be abruptly brought to an end in many churches within and around Owo, resulting in a great panic, fear and unimaginable tension in the ancient town and its environs.
