In a solemn yet celebratory atmosphere, the community gathered at the Cathedral Church of St. Stephens Oke Aluko on Friday, February 6th, 2026, to bid farewell to a beloved son of God, a dynamic father, and illustrious son of Ondo kingdom, Mr. Steve Olamide Awosika. The Lord Bishop of Ondo Anglican Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Stephen Adeniran Oni, presided over the funeral service , paying tribute to a life that left an indelible mark on those who knew him. The Bishop also directed the wake-keep service, held at OFM Event Hall on the eve of the burial, Thursday, February 5th, 2026. Meanwhile, The Most Rev. Prof. George Lasebikan, a renowned cleric and scholar, took to the pulpit to deliver a stirring eulogy, reminding the congregation of the hope that lies beyond the grave. Ipele-Owo attack: cleric allays Nigerians fear as worshippers desert churches on January 1

A cleric, Ven. Dr. Olatunde Abiodun, has urged Nigerians to remain calm and not be intimidated by recent attacks nor purported fearful actions around, including the Ipele-Owo incident, where gunmen attacked a police station on New Year's Eve causing the popular crossover night to be abruptly brought to an end in many churches within and around Owo, resulting in a great panic, fear and unimaginable tension in the ancient town and its environs. The attack, which occurred around 9:41 pm., resulted in the destruction of the police station, but fortunately, no lives were lost. Speaking at St. Patrick's Anglican Church Ijebu Owo on New Year's Day, even though the church pews were scanty with worshippers, Ven. Abiodun reassured the congregation and Nigerians at large that the situation is under control and that "unto. whom shall we go in 2026?" Awosikas host Ondo youths day as program anchor showcases ACT Ondo

The Awosikas family recently hosted Ondo Youths Day event to mark the annual Awosika day at the popular Awosika musuem strategically located in the heart of Ondo city, with Dr. Kehinde Adenegan, Acting Rector of Adeyemi College of Technology, Ondo, anchoring the program and showcasing the institution's offerings. In the opening remark of the family head, Chief Losare Benson Awosika, he appreciated the youths for participating and encouraged them to be focussed in life. In his words, "x+x = success, where the first x is sacrifice and the second x is discipline. These are what should guide you in life to face life challenges in order to excell", Ch. Benson remarked.  The event featured various competitions, including science quiz competition, talent hunt, and acrylic drawing and painting, with ten schools participating.
