Awosikas host Ondo youths day as program anchor showcases ACT Ondo

The Awosikas family recently hosted Ondo Youths Day event to mark the annual Awosika day at the popular Awosika musuem strategically located in the heart of Ondo city, with Dr. Kehinde Adenegan, Acting Rector of Adeyemi College of Technology, Ondo, anchoring the program and showcasing the institution's offerings.

In the opening remark of the family head, Chief Losare Benson Awosika, he appreciated the youths for participating and encouraged them to be focussed in life. In his words, "x+x = success, where the first x is sacrifice and the second x is discipline. These are what should guide you in life to face life challenges in order to excell", Ch. Benson remarked. 

The event featured various competitions, including science quiz competition, talent hunt, and acrylic drawing and painting, with ten schools participating. St. Louis Secondary School emerged top in the scientific quiz and acrylic painting, while Top Class school took second place in both. Awosika College came third in the quiz competition, and CTL School took third place in painting.

In the talent hunt which was well directed and coordinated by the renowned America based Don in the Awosika's family, Prof  Larry Awosika, St. Louis Secondary School also took second place. Among the participating schools, we have St. Louis Secondary School, Top Class school, CTL secondary school, Awosika College, Jubilee Grammar School, Ondo Boys High School, AUD Grammar School. Others are Celestial Grammar school, Ondo Grammar school and DTS secondary school Ondo. 

The event highlighted the academic prowess of participating schools and showcased Adeyemi College of Technology's (ACT) accredited programmes; software engineering technology, hardware engineering technology, computer science and multimedia technology. Dr. Adenegan remarked that ACT has already produced the first set of ND graduates and revealed that the College was established 3 years ago and it is a monotechnic established to solely cater for skills and knowledge acquisition in the area of technology as the world advances in technological advances and innovations. He enjoined the participating students to consider the institution as a choice capable of transforming their technical and technological skills while emphasizing that there are 3-month certificate programs that are also available for both science and non-science students. 

The programme also featured a talk symbiotically delivered by Pastor Chris Uwanyin ad Dr. Paul Onwuka who encouraged the youths to be morally sound, academically upright and culturally adaptable. They also encouraged them to use artificial intelligence responsibly which was corroborated by Dr. Kehinde Adenegan. 

Dignitaries present at the event included Ch. Losare Benson Awosika, Prof. Larry Awosika, Ch. Idowu Awosika, Ch. Lomafed Awosika, Apostle Prophet Joe Awosika, Arch. Awosika who gave a student university scholarship, and other notable guests, alongside students and teachers from participating schools. The second day of the event was used for empowerment program and recognition of the 2025 museum patrons.
