Dr.Vesu (Festus Oriade Ajala) Becomes Bobagunwa of Epe Land

In a colorful and historic ceremony, Ch. (Dr.) Festus Oriade Ajala was coronated as the Bobagunwa of Epe land, while his wife, Jumoke Ajala, was honored as the Yeye Bobagunwa of Epe land. The chieftaincy rites took place on December 14th, 2024, at the palace of the Yangede of Epe. The title was conferred on him by HRM Oba Oyebade Isaac Akinkuade Adenusi III.

The coronation ceremony was attended by dignitaries, traditional rulers, and well-wishers from across the state. Ch. (Dr.) Festus Oriade Ajala, a distinguished son of Epe land, was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the community, his leadership qualities, and his commitment to the development of Epe land.

As the newly coronated Bobagunwa of Epe land, Ch. (Dr.) Festus Oriade Ajala pledged to work tirelessly for the advancement of Epe land and the welfare of its people. He thanked the Yangede of Epe and the entire kingdom for the honor bestowed upon him and his wife.

Jumoke Ajala, the amiable wife of Dr. Vesu, who was honored as the Yeye Bobagunwa of Epe land, was praised for her support and contributions to her husband's endeavors. The couple's dedication to their community and their commitment to upholding the values of their heritage were celebrated throughout the ceremony.

Ipele-Owo attack: cleric allays Nigerians fear as worshippers desert churches on January 1

A cleric, Ven. Dr. Olatunde Abiodun, has urged Nigerians to remain calm and not be intimidated by recent attacks nor purported fearful actions around, including the Ipele-Owo incident, where gunmen attacked a police station on New Year's Eve causing the popular crossover night to be abruptly brought to an end in many churches within and around Owo, resulting in a great panic, fear and unimaginable tension in the ancient town and its environs. The attack, which occurred around 9:41 pm., resulted in the destruction of the police station, but fortunately, no lives were lost.
