S.S.Adenegan @85, celebrates harvest in grand style
The St. Patrick's Anglican Church, Ijebu Owo, was filled with joy and celebration as Chief S.S. Adenegan used his 85th birthday to celebrate the church harvest ceremony as one of the 2024 chairpersons. The event, which took place on Sunday, November 17, 2024, was attended by family members, dignitaries, and well-wishers from far and wide.
The church service was led by the Vicar, Ven. Dr. Olatunde Abiodun, who delivered a powerful sermon emphasizing the importance of gratitude, humility, and service to humanity. The congregation was filled with praise and worship as the church choir led the singing of hymns and psalms.
The church harvest thanksgiving was attended by many dignitaries, including the representatives of His Royal Majesty, Oba Kofoworola Oladoyinbo Ojomo, The Ojomo Oluda of Ijebu land and Chiefs of Ijebu, the Pro Chancellor of Achievers University, Hon. Dr. Bode Ayorinde and the University Management team, Friends of Achievers, guests from Adeyemi Federal University of Education Ondo, Messiah Ang Church, Egbe Igbeyinadun, Iwamimo society, Police Community Relations Council and others.
Other notable individuals at the ceremony were Ch. Lawrence Omosanya, Hon. Dr. Alaba Lad-Ojomo, Ch. Abiodun Asiwaju, Major Obameso, Engr. Taye Ajayi, Dr. Femi Lawal, High Ch. Famuwa, Pastor & Pastor Mrs. Taiwo, Pastor Taye, among others.
After the church service, the celebrant and his family members with guests and well wishers proceeded to his Idasen residence, where a grand party was held in his honor. The Owo Irewolu Cultural Group provided music and entertainment, adding to the festive atmosphere.
After the church service, the celebrant, Chief S.S. Adenegan, was interviewed by our correspondent. When asked about his feelings on reaching this milestone, Chief Adenegan expressed his gratitude to God for sparing his life and granting him good health. "I am overwhelmed with joy and gratitude to God for this great privilege. I pray that God will continue to bless me with good health and strength to continue serving Him and humanity," he said.
In her own words, Mrs. Caroline Adejoke Akinniyi, the eldest daughter of the celebrant, also shared her thoughts on her father's birthday. "Today is a special day for our family, and we are grateful to God for the gift of our father. He has been a blessing to us, and we pray that God will continue to bless him with good health and happiness," she delightfully said. She also appreciated all family members and well wishers that came around to celebrate her father.
Meanwhile, Dr. Kehinde Adenegan, one of the sons of the celebrant, praised his father's commitment to community service and his contributions to the development of Ijebu Owo. "Our father has been a pillar of strength to our community, and his selfless service to humanity is worthy of emulation. We are proud of him, and we pray that God will continue to bless him," Kehinde said.
Alhaji Saidi Aminu, a family friend, also commended the celebrant for his kindness and generosity. "Chief Adenegan is a kind and generous man who has touched the lives of many people in our community. We are grateful for his presence in our lives, and we pray that God will continue to bless him," Alhaji remarked.
As the celebration came to a close, Chief S.S. Adenegan thanked his family, friends, and well-wishers for their love and support. "I am grateful to God for this great celebration. I thank my family, friends, and well-wishers for their love and support. I pray that God will continue to bless us all," he said.
The 85th birthday celebration of Chief S.S. Adenegan will be remembered for a long time as a testament to his good character, kindness, and contributions to the development of Ijebu Owo. Ch.
