Falayes donate million naira textbooks to schools in Owo LGA

In a significant boost to education in Owo, renowned philanthropist and education advocate, Dr. Foluso Falaye and the Falaye's family have donated sets of textbooks to 23 secondary schools participating in the Falaye Science and Mathematics Olympiad (FSMO) program.

During the FSMO trophies and awards presentation in July 2024, Dr. Falaye had pledged to provide the necessary educational resources to enhance the learning experience for students in Owo. True to his word, the donation of thousands of textbooks covering Mathematics, English, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and ICT has been fulfilled.

The distribution was done on behalf of the Falayes by Mr. Adedamola Adeyeri, the FSMO Coaching supervisor, to 23 beneficiary schools, including public and private schools. These schools,  identified as part of the FSMO program, expressed gratitude for the generous donation. "This is a game-changer for our students," said Mr. Tunde Alaba George, the Owo High School Principal. "The textbooks will greatly enhance our teaching and learning processes, and we're thankful to the Falayes for their unwavering commitment to education", echoed Umar Mazeed of Imade College Owo.

In a statement, Dr. Foluso Bamidele Falaye emphasized the importance of quality education in shaping the future of Nigeria's youth. "Investing in education is investing in our collective future. I'm proud to support the talented students and dedicated teachers in Owo, and I believe this donation will have a lasting impact on their academic journey."

He (Dr. Falaye) further declared to AGES correspondence, "I am passionate in seeing the lives of our young ones turned around and placed solidly on the path of progress such that in the future, through this change process, we will see indigenes of Owo emerge as global leaders in various walks of life such that from all over the world, people will begin to study the unique success story of Owo kingdom. I desire that the entire leadership structure in Owo will share this vision and passion. It will make the vision much easier to achieve. Nevertheless, even against all odds, we will not relent. The Lord is with us and we shall overcome".

The donated textbooks include the senior secondary classes complete series of Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and  ICT.

Owo community leaders praised Falaye's philanthropic efforts, citing the positive impact on the region's educational landscape. "Dr. Falaye's selfless contributions demonstrate his dedication to empowering our youth," said Hon. Chief Solomon Adenegan, a community leader and former PTA Chairman.

The Falaye Science and Mathematics Olympiad program aims to promote excellence in STEM education, encouraging students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

It would be recalled that 20 best students our of the participating schools got hugely rewarded with various degrees of rewards and mostly a 6-month free intensive coaching with monthly allowances paid to the fortunate students. This program has been meticulously anchored by ADEMMAK Global Consultancy Services under the leadership of Dr. Kehinde Adenegan and ably supervised by Mr. Adedamola George Adeyeri.

With this donation, Falaye has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting education in Owo, inspiring a brighter future for generations to come. The beneficiary schools are:
