Faces of the winners of the Nigeria @ 63 Virtual Reading Competition (VRC) have now surfaced online. This was showcased on Zoom and YouTube on 1st October, 2023 at the VIRTUAL PRESENTATION OF AWARDS TO THE CONTESTANTS OF VIRTUAL LITERARY READING COMPETITION (VRC) ORGANIZED BY A MULTI-TALENTED UNIVERSITY DON, DR. KEHINDE ADENEGAN, THE AUTHOR OF THE TALE OF HEXAGON CITY.

In his words, "It gives me joy to address this august online gathering on this 1st day of October as Nigeria celebrates 63rd birthday /independence anniversary in which I uniquely clock 44 in this 63rd Independence year of Nigeria".

While delivering his speech at the presentation, Kéhìndé Adénegàn gave the genesis of VRC (Virtual Reading Competition). The author had written and published a book (The Tale of Hexagon City) which was initially published online early this year 2023 and had distributed over 1000 e-copies freely online but the reading culture is not just there. When he clocked 44 on July 9, 2023, he approached his Twin brother (Prof. Taiwo Adenegan) about his plan to host online quiz and use the 44th birthday to roll out N63,000 cash rewards in an online literary reading competition. He then made 16 short episodes of VIRTUAL READING OF THE TALE OF HEXAGON CITY WITH THE AUTHOR on his YMC - Yorùbá Mathematics Class YouTube channel. With this idea in mind, said he "many who find it difficult to read may find it pleasurable to listen to audio/virtual recordings of such a book". Eventually, it was found very interesting by the registered participants.

132 participants eventually registered for the competition but only 45 participants took part in the online quiz which was rolled out in 4 phases, 4 series in each phase with 50 questions and 200 questions in all.

"The activity was very rewarding, engaging and encouraging. Very many of them took away their mind from the money and price rewards even though that's a target. Indeed, the participants had value for their time" as posited by Ninioluwalere Omotayo one of the vast reader who came 4th, scoring 152 with other two contestants scoring same 152 to clinch the 4th position prize. Ninioluwalere expressed her heartfelt response to the way and manner the author conducted the contest and his humane attitudes in responding to the participants on the created platform.

The VRC was geared towards revitalizing reading culture among youths and to again see that Nigeria nation can be great through the predictions of the book for this present day Nigeria if Nigerian leaders follow the suggested ideas that brought about the rebirth of "Hexagon City" which mirrored our country Nigeria.

As a matter of fact, the best first five participants in each phase were successively rewarded with instantaneous weekend data/credit to appreciate their performances during the phases as reported by the organizer.
