100 days in office: Governor Nnadi visits Ondo, plays final match kick off

As it is in the custom of Rotary Governors across the globe to visit clubs in their districts during their tenure of office, things are not different with the present serving, dynamic and action Governor of district 9125, Rotn Goddy Nnadi (PHF, Mni), who paid his official visit to Ondo State at his exact 100 days in office.

Getting to Ondo City, Governor Goddy Nnadi, who was accompanied by a past District Governor, Rotn Jumoke Bamigboye and other district officials and Assistant Governors, arrived Adeyemi College of Education Ondo Gymnasium/stadium where Rotary club of Ondo tackled Rotary club of Akure Metro in the final match of the DG football challenge.

The club assembly, which is one of the core services of the DG to interact with the clubs boards and members to discuss ways to move the clubs forward, took place immediately after the sensational match at the Language Board room of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo. "If you say you're a Rotarian of many years standing in a club and you have no record of sponsored members, then you are not yet a productive member", DG Goddy posited. He encouraged clubs to double their membership in this rotary year and be lively at club meetings and activities to motivate new and old members. Four new members were inducted into Rotary club of Ondo-Adeyemi College. They are Mrs. Sanumi Theresa, Mr. Seun Oladipo, Mrs. Sam-Ogunmusin and Mr. Michael, a pharmacist while one new member, Mr. Kelvin was inducted into the Rotary club of Ondo.

In the same vein, some Rotarians were decorated by the DG as donors to Rotary foundation through a special pin his tenure introduced in a bid to spur the desires of members to contribute to rotary foundations and subsequently become Paul Haris fellows. Rotn Dr. Kehinde Adenegan (AGES Executive Secretary), Rotn Dr. Justina Ogboru, Rotn Dr. Cecelia Olarewaju, Rotn. Barr. Gbenga and others were decorated as well. Equally, there was exchange of banneret by the hosting Presidents Fakorede, Olabode and the synergy DG Nnadi.

Meanwhile, the DG has earlier performed a noble role in the distribution of food items supplied by Rotary club of Ondo-Adeyemi College to special students and cash gifts provided by Rotary club of Ondo to some market  women. The recipients showed gratitude to both clubs for these kind gestures.

The epic of the event was the dinner organized in honour of the DG by a past District Governor, Bisi Adegoke PHF, popularly known as Mukeke Governor. Indeed, it was another Mukeke night as Rotarians were treated to assorted meals and drinks till Mama calls. "I must confess that I am highly delighted to have Rotarians of high repute gathered in my small abode here to be treated to sumptuous dinner. I count myself very fortunate and so motivated to keep the rotary spirit", Bisi Adegoke remarked.

In his response, Governor Nnadi acknowledged the selfless roles played by the past DGs Jumoke and Adegoke for their unwavering supports to rotary and his emergence, as well as administration. He extolled the virtues of Rotarians in Ondo State and encouraged them to keep up the good work. A young boy of 12, Confidence Adenegan, who was in attendance, was recognized and charged to be a Rotarian as he grows up having being exposed to Rotary good works and activities.
