AFUED organizes capacity-building workshop for academic staff on student relationships and AI-driven skills development

Ondo, Nigeria.  The Directorate of Counseling and Human Development Centre of Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo, has organized a workshop aimed at strengthening the professional capacity of academic staff in areas of student engagement and the integration of emerging technologies in education. The workshop, held on Thursday, March 12, 2026 , took place at the Obongawan Lecture Theatre of the university between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The event brought together academic staff from different faculties to discuss strategies for improving lecturer–student relationships and leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance skills acquisition and socio-economic development. Adeyemi College of Technology (ACT), Ondo, has been listed by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) as one of the recently approved or upgraded Institutions in Nigeria for its innovative programs in technology. ACT has been approved,  as contained in the NBTE publication , to run OND programs in Multimedia Technology and Computer Science, solidifying its position to be one of the leading monotechnic institutions in Nigeria. This approval is a significant milestone for ACT, whose focus is to be at the forefront of technology education in the country. The college, which was established by Adeyemi Federal University (then ACE) initially started with Software Engineering Technology and Hardware Engineering Technology programs in 2023/2024. In a solemn yet celebratory atmosphere, the community gathered at the Cathedral Church of St. Stephens Oke Aluko on Friday, February 6th, 2026, to bid farewell to a beloved son of God, a dynamic father, and illustrious son of Ondo kingdom, Mr. Steve Olamide Awosika. The Lord Bishop of Ondo Anglican Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Stephen Adeniran Oni, presided over the funeral service , paying tribute to a life that left an indelible mark on those who knew him.
