Muslim-Muslim Ticket: Where are even the Christians in Nigeria? Archbishop asks

Image
It is no longer news that the ruling party, through his party presidential flag bearer, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has settled for a Muslim-Muslim Ticket with the recent unveiling of Ibrahim Kashim Shettima as his running mate after initially naming Ibrahim Masari as tentative running mate.  Nevertheless, that one Ibrahim was dropped and another Ibrahim now picked, the fact is that APC has now settled for a muslim VP candidate. It would be recalled that, at the unveiling of Shettima, various men and women, purportedly reported as "Bishop's and pastors" were sighted in funny "spiritual garments". Though, as AGES reliably gathered, CAN has dissociated itself from the so called adventurous bishops, either hired or fake, who just went on a mere political tour. "Now, on the M-M ticket, are there even christians in Nigeria again? Where are even the Christians?, asked a cleric! An Anglican Bishop of the Diocese of Ika, the Rt. Rev. Godfrey Ekpenisi has opined that if the church today is not serious about aggressive evangelism and going back to the ancient landmark, advertorials on church sales will be placed as found in some places in the western world where worshippers are no longer found. Ekpenisi made this remark while delivering the opening sermon at the first session of the fourteenth synod of the Diocese of Owo, held at St. Paul's church Ifon, episcopally led by Owo Diocesan, Rt. Rev. Dr. Stephen Ayodeji Fagbemi with the theme "chosen to proclaim". While speaking on the synod theme, Bishop Ekpenisi tasked church members and priests to market their churches to the world if they want numerical and spiritual growth of their various churches. "The church must live out what it preaches and be involved in the life of the community of existence if true impacts will be made", Ekpenisi reiterated. "Who will take over the churches tom...

The Lord Bishop of Owo Anglican Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Stephen Fagbemi, has decried what is described as government insensitivity to great Nigeria students' plight in the way the ongoing ASUU Strike is being handled. At the Owo Diocesan synod formal opening ceremony, held at the St. Paul Anglican church, Ifon in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State on Friday 22nd July, 2022, Fagbemi remarked, in his episcopal charge, that it is so appalling to see Nigerian youths who are future leaders roaming about the streets sequel to government insensitivity and insincerity to their plights.  "It took the President over three months to publicly react to the strike that his attention has just been called to this!", so observed his Lordship. Then afterwards, the strike is going into its sixth month, and the nation leaders are strongly putting machineries in motion for 2023 general election, leaving out an important issue as this. What a country!, Fagbemi exclaimed in his charge. In an...
